Summary Information on the Overview Page

The Overview page provides a summarized view of HeatWave resources. It shows metrics, number of DB systems, activities, alarms, service limits, and service health of your HeatWave DB systems. It also provides links to create a DB system, view service announcements, view new features, and access the documentation.

Accessing the Overview Page

  1. Sign in to the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure console.
  2. Open the navigation menu, click Databases. Under HeatWave, click Overview.
  3. On the left pane on the Overview page, select the compartment that contains your HeatWave DB systems.

Overview Page

On the HeatWave Overview page, you can perform the following tasks:

  • View the metrics: The metrics section shows the number of current connections and number of statement counts of all DB systems in the selected compartment. You can change the duration, interval, toggle between chart and table view, create an alarm on the query, copy the chart URL, copy the query, and open the query in the Metrics explorer.
  • Create a DB system: At the bottom of the metrics section, you can click a button to create a DB system with HeatWave cluster enabled or create a DB system with HeatWave cluster and high availability enabled. See Using the Console.
  • View the resources: The resources section shows the number of standalone and high availability DB systems in the selected compartment. It also shows the number of DB systems with HeatWave cluster enabled.
  • View additional information: The additional information section shows the following:
    • Activity: The number of activities in progress. You can click on the card to open the Activities list. See Viewing Activity.
    • Alarms: The number of critical alarms raised. You can click on the card to open the Alarms list. See Viewing Alarms.
    • Service limits: Shows one of the following:
      • The number of resources that have reached the limit, if any.
      • Otherwise, the number of resources that are approaching the limit, if any.
      • Otherwise, the number of resources within the service limit.

    • Service health: The status of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure services. Click on the card to view the details of all cloud services across different regions.
  • View the list of recent announcements: The announcement section shows the 10 latest announcements. See Viewing Announcements.
  • View the list of recent new features: The what's new section shows a list of recent new features. You can click the links to open and view the release notes.
  • Access the documentation: The documentation section provides a list of links that points to various topics in the documentation. You can click the links to open and view the documentation.
