SSH Connections Troubleshooting

If you're unable to connect to an Oracle Linux instance on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure using SSH, review the following information.

  • SSH Login Denied Using PuTTYgen Key Files: "Permission denied (publickey,gssapi-keyex,gssapi-with-mic)"
  • SSH Fails with Error: "Authentication Refused: Bad Ownership Or Modes For Directory "
  • SSH Error: connect to host w.x.y.z port 22: Operation timed out
  • SSH: Connect to host w.x.y.z port 22: Connection refused
  • <user-name>@w.x.y.z: Permission denied (publickey,gssapi-keyex,gssapi-with-mic)
