Registering an Oracle Radio Device

Create a one-time registration QR value for an enabled Radio user.

You need radio.enrollment.manage and radio.device.manage. The intended user must be enabled in Radio.
  1. In Radio, select Devices icon Devices.
  2. Select Register device.
  3. For Intended user, select the enabled Radio user who will register the application.
  4. For Display name, enter a name that identifies the application installation.
  5. Leave Reusable QR code cleared for this one-time registration.
To enroll multiple installations for the same user, follow reusable registration.
  6. For Expires at, enter a future date and time after which the registration value can't be used.
  7. Select Create QR code.
The QR value supplies the Radio base URL, Identity Domain URL, mobile client ID, authorization scope, and one-time registration data. It doesn't contain the application's callback URI, a client secret, an access token, or a refresh token. Public Safety and Security manages the mobile OAuth configuration; you don't configure a callback, grants, scopes, or offline access for this registration.
  8. Have the intended user scan the QR code with the supported Radio mobile application. If the QR image can't be used, securely provide the Shareable registration value instead.
The QR code and shareable value represent the same short-lived, one-time registration. They don't authenticate the user or the device.
  9. Have the intended user sign in to finish registration.
After Identity Domain sign-in, the browser returns to the installed application through its supported callback. The application supplies its opaque advertising ID when it completes registration.
  10. Select Done.
After the intended user signs in and completes registration with the installation's advertising ID, Radio creates a device record for that application installation. The application protects the returned OAuth tokens, uses the refresh token to renew access, and sends a valid access token on each Radio REST request. For WebSocket, send the access token in AUTH when authenticating or renewing the session.
Note

To perform this task using the REST API, see the corresponding Oracle Radio REST operation. Follow the supported client authentication requirements.
