Version 5.1 of oci-fss-utils for File Storage In-Transit Encryption Is Available

A new version, 5.1, of oci-fss-utils for File Storage is now available.

Note

Starting with version 5.x, Oracle Linux 7 (OL7) is no longer supported. Oracle Linux 8 and 9 are supported.

We recommend that you upgrade to version 5.1 for continued support and access to the latest features. For upgrade instructions, see Using In-Transit Encryption.

Version 5.1 includes the following enhancements:

  • Clean termination of previous service versions on upgrade, with immediate processing of NFS traffic by the new forwarder and no downtime.
  • Support for up to 4096 SSL connections to a single mount target.
  • Improved recovery time for SSL connections in the event of a network glitch between the compute instance and File Storage.
  • Consolidation to a single system service, oci-fss-utils. The functionalities of oci-fss-init, oci-fss-gc, and oci-fss-monitor are now included in oci-fss-utils.
  • All mounts targeting the same mount target now share a set of forwarder processes as defined in /etc/oci-fss-utils.d/config.json. Mounting the file system multiple times on the same mount target no longer creates additional forwarder processes.
  • Automatic reconfiguration of the IPv6 address on the network interface after IPv6 has been disabled and enabled again.
