IPv6 Support

Starting with this release, IPv6 addresses can optionally be added to both new and existing compute instances and network resources. IPv6 virtual network connectivity is currently only supported for compute instances with SR-IOV (single root I/O virtualization) VNICs.

Dynamic Logging Levels

This release of the appliance software includes the ability to change the logging level of some services without restarting the service. With the ability to raise the logging level during runtime, you don't need to log every detail by default. As a result, you can decrease the overall default logging of services, reducing the amount of storage required. The support for logging levels varies by service.

Transit Routing

A new network topology is supported in this release, where the on-premises network connects to a VCN on the Private Cloud Appliance in order to reach resources beyond that VCN. Routing rules in this VCN are configured so that traffic transits through the VCN to its destination.

Kubernetes Engine Updates

The following new features are added for Kubernetes Engine (OKE):

  • NVIDIA GPU Plugin Cluster Add-on. This release offers the NVIDIA GPU Plugin add-on, which deploys the NVIDIA Kubernetes Device Plugin for GPU access by workloads.

  • Oracle Database Operator for Kubernetes Cluster Add-on. This release offers the Oracle Database Operator for Kubernetes add-on, which extends the Kubernetes API with custom resources and controllers for automating Oracle Database lifecycle management.

  • Custom CA Certificates for Node Pools. This release enables the use of a private a CA certificate or CA bundle to verify TLS connections to the container registry service.

  • Improved Logging and Diagnostics.
