Out-of-Place Upgrade Tasks

Complete the following tasks to perform an out-of-place upgrade.

1. Read the Oracle BI Applications certification document.
2. Prepare the machines for application and database servers.
3. Install the following prerequisite platforms. See the instructions in Install and Configure Oracle BI Applications.
   • Oracle WebLogic Server
   • Oracle Analytics Server
   • Oracle Data Integrator
   • Repository Creation Utility for Business Intelligence
4. Run the Oracle BI Applications installer:
   1. Install Oracle BI Applications.
   2. Install the Repository Creation Utility for Oracle BI Applications.
   3. Apply the Oracle Fusion Middleware Platform patches.
5. Configure Oracle BI Applications by enabling the offerings using Oracle BI Applications Configuration Manager (BIACM).
6. Register the source using Oracle BI Applications Configuration Manager.
7. Recreate the customizations in Oracle Data Integrator.
8. Deploy the custom changes of the Oracle Data Integrator model on the warehouse schema.
9. Move the Oracle BI Applications Configuration Manager customizations to the new environment.
10. Move the Oracle BI customizations to the new environment.
11. Generate and run load plans using Oracle BI Applications Configuration Manager.
