6 Upgrade the Oracle Data Integrator 11g Customization Code

Upgrade the Oracle Data Integrator 11g customization code to 12c.

Oracle recommends that you recreate the Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) customizations in 12c for the following reasons:

• If you decide to export the customizations from your prior releases of the ODI repository using the Smart Export or the Regular Export methods, then there's a significant possibility that the ready-to-use ODI 12c repository that's included in this Oracle BI Applications release becomes corrupted. This corruption can occur when the Smart Export process brings in all the references to the exported objects from the ODI 11g repository such as the ready-to-use user-defined functions, knowledge modules, procedures, and reusable maps. Also, while importing these objects, the ready-to-use ODI 12c baseline code may be over-written.
• If you recreate the mapping in ODI 12c, then you can avoid any issues that you may face during the upgrade process.
