Manage Oracle E-Business Suite Sequences

Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) uses database objects called sequences to create unique identifiers for records in the system. EBS applications DBAs should periodically check and manage the health of EBS sequences in your database to avoid potential issues during product flows, following the guidance in My Oracle Support article KA1025, Managing Sequences in Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2.

Use this document, which applies for all 12.2.x releases, to find overall instructions for sequence management as well as a list of links to product-specific sequence management documentation and recommended patches.

Oracle recommends that you perform sequence management checks a minimum of once per quarter or more frequently if your EBS environment has a large volume of transactions. You can run diagnostic scripts to help identify sequences that may require action, by reviewing details of your sequence definitions, checking for sequences at risk of running out of available values, and checking for sequences with maximum values increased beyond the maximums defined in the current EBS release. If the scripts report an issue, log a service request with Oracle Support who will engage with Oracle E-Business Suite Development to provide next steps.
