Manage Shipping Access by Operating Unit

Secure your shipping operations with the ability to manage access based on Operating Unit, introduced in Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2.11. This enhancement enforces operating unit access controls for both the Shipping Transactions window and the Pick Release process. This ensures that users can only interact with shipping data relevant to their assigned operating unit.

The following windows now have an Operating Unit field:

  • Shipping Transactions, Query Manager, Lines/LPNs tab, LPNs tab, Lines tab
  • Quick Ship, Find Deliveries
  • Release Sales Orders for Picking, Order tab
  • Release Rules, Order tab

Business Benefits

  • Enhances data security and compliance by restricting access based on operating unit.
  • Reduces the risk of data breaches or errors in multi-org environments.
  • Ensures that regional warehouse managers access shipping data for their specific operating unit, preventing cross-unit interference.

Steps to enable and configure

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Tips and considerations

- Review and update user responsibilities to ensure alignment with operating unit assignments, preventing unauthorized access to shipping data.

- Train staff on the implications of operating unit-based access to avoid confusion, especially in environments with multiple operating units managed by overlapping teams.
