Run Cost Distribution Programs for Supplier, Labor Cost Accruals, and Borrowed and Lent Costs Using Parallel Workers

Oracle Project Costing now introduces a new mechanism to run cost distribution programs parallelly, that significantly improves the performance of cost distribution processes. Previously, cost distribution processes ran sequentially, often leading to longer processing times, especially for large-scale projects with substantial data volumes. Project Costing now includes a new concurrent program PRC: Submit Parallel Processes for Cost Distribution which enables parallel processing for all the Cost Distribution processes by reducing the time required for large-scale cost distributions enabling faster financial reporting and decision-making in project-intensive environments.

This capability is particularly valuable for businesses managing complex projects across various sectors, where timely cost distribution is critical for maintaining budget control and meeting project deadlines consequently decreasing the duration for key activities like period closures, year-end closures.

Steps to enable and configure

Access the concurrent program submission interface from the Projects Super User responsibility.

Submit the concurrent program, PRC: Submit Parallel Processes for Cost Distribution, to initiate parallel processing for cost distribution tasks.

Monitor the processing status to ensure completion and address any system resource constraints if necessary.
