Entering Variable Values for a String Variable

A string variable can be a Oracle Hyperion Financial Management, Oracle Hyperion Planning, Oracle General Ledger, or Oracle Essbase replacement variable. A string variable can also be a Financial Management execution variable. A string variable must be alphanumeric and be no more than 255 characters. It can contain a null value, but cannot contain a leading & (ampersand) character in the value.

To enter values for a replacement string variable:

  1. From Type, select String.

  2. In the Value table, enter a value for the variable.

  3. By default, RTP is selected. If you do not want to create a runtime prompt for this variable, clear RTP.

    Planning users only

    Note:

    If you do not select RTP, you must enter a default value for the variable.

  4. f you selected RTP, enter the runtime prompt text you want to display for users.

    Planning and Essbase users only

  5. Click Save button.

To enter values for a Financial Management replacement or execution string variable:

  1. From Type, select String.

  2. Enter a value, or click in the Value field to display the Actions icon.

  3. Do one of these tasks:
