How Roles Affect What You Can Do in Calculation Manager

The role you are assigned in Oracle Hyperion Shared Services determines what rules, rulesets, components, and templates you can work with and what you can do with them in Oracle Hyperion Calculation Manager.

    The Essbase Administrator role is inherited from Essbase; there is no Essbase Calculation Manager Administrator role.

Edit, delete, deploy, and launch rules and other objects

After you deploy applications, rules, and other objects, you can:

  • Launch Financial Management business rulesets in Financial Management

  • Launch Planning business rules in Planning or in Calculation Manager

  • Launch Essbase business rules in Oracle Essbase Administration Services or in Calculation Manager

  • Launch Oracle Fusion General Ledger business rules in General Ledger

Deployed Global roles for the deployed application:
  • Financial Management Administrator

  • Planning Administrator

  • Essbase Administrator

Create, edit, and delete business rules belonging to that application. You can also deploy the application.
Deployed Application-specific roles:
  • Financial Management Calculation Designer

  • Planning Interactive User

  • Essbase Calc Write Privileges

Create, edit, and delete your own rules, and see other users' rules.

Note: You cannot edit another user's rules unless the other user assigns ownership of the rule to you.

Deployed Application-specific roles:
  • Financial Management Viewer

  • Planning View User
