Converting a Shared Node to a Primary Node

After working with different hierarchies that have shared nodes the situation can arise where a hierarchy has a shared node in it but the primary node does not exist in the hierarchy. In this scenario, you can convert the shared node into the primary node in one operation.

To convert a shared node to a primary node:

  1. Select the shared node.
  2. From Nodes, select Convert to Primary.

    When the hierarchy refreshes, the selected shared node is displayed with the primary node icon Primary node icon.

    Note:

    If the primary node already exists in the hierarchy and you want the primary node to be in the location of the shared node, then you must manually swap the nodes
