Creating Applications

An application is a set of dimensions and dimension members that meet a set of analytical or reporting requirements. For example, you can have an application to report on tax data and a separate application for sales analysis.

There are several methods for creating applications:

  • Create a new application. This option launches the Create Application wizard. You can define the application calendar, module configuration, and custom dimensions. See Creating a New Application.

  • Copy from an application. View the application calendar, module configuration and custom dimensions from an application and modify using the Application Creation wizard to create a new application. See Copying from an Application.

  • Create an application from a profile file. You can also view and modify the calendar. See Creating an Application from a Profile File.
