Extracting Data to a Flat File

To extract data to a flat file:

  1. Open the application from which to extract data.
  2. Select Consolidation, then Extract, and then Data.
  3. Do one of these tasks:
    • If you saved POV dimensions in a template, from Template, select the template. The Point of View and extract options are populated with the default values from the template.

    • If you are not using a template, select the POV dimension members to export.

  4. For Extract Destination Type, select Flat File.
  5. For Extract Format, select a format: Without Header or With Header.
  6. Optional: From Options, select one or more extract options:
    • Extract Dynamic Accounts

    • Calculated Data

    • Derived Data

    • Cell Text

    • Phased Submission Group Data

  7. From Delimiter, select a delimiter.
  8. From Line Item Details, select an extract option:
    • Individual Line Items

    • Total Summary for Cell

    • None

  9. Optional: For Extracted File Prefix, enter a prefix, or use the application name default prefix.
  10. Click Extract.
  11. From the download box, select Save.
  12. Enter a name for the extracted file and make sure that the location for the file is in the directory that you set up.

    Note:

    By default, data files use the DAT file extension.

  13. Click Save.
