Running On-Demand Rules in Data Forms

If your administrator has created on-demand rules for a data form, you can run the rules when you are working in the form. On-demand rules enable you to quickly see the results of calculations. For example, when you are working in a data form that has been set up to run a specific on-demand rule, you can enter data and then run the on-demand rule to see the calculation result.

When you run on-demand rules, the system runs the rule on all subcubes that have a valid POV in one of the cells in the currently displayed form, and that are not locked. The rules are only available when the cell has a Calculate or Force Calculate option available.

To run on-demand rules:

  1. From the Document Manager, open a data form.
  2. Select the cell for which to calculate data.
  3. Use one of these methods:
    • From the toolbar, click the Execute button and select the rule to run.

      Note:

This process runs the rule on all valid POVs on the form that are not locked.

    • Right-click on a cell and from the context menu, select Execute, and then select the rule to run.

    Note:

This process runs the rule for only the POVs of the selected cells.

The Execute toolbar button and right-click menu option are not available if the administrator has not specified any on-demand rules for the form.

  4. Right-click on the cell and select Cell Information to verify the calculation status.
