Selecting Application Information

Specify the application name and description, register the application with Oracle Hyperion Shared Services and select the data source.

A default instance (cluster) is set up when you install and configure Oracle Hyperion Planning. To update clusters with the EPM System Configurator, see the Oracle Enterprise Performance Management System Installation and Configuration Guide.

To select application information:

1. In the Planning Application Wizard, select Manage Applications, and then under Actions, select Create.

   See Setting Up Applications Using Planning Application Administration.

2. Click Select.
3. Select a data source.

   See Managing Data Sources.

4. Enter the name of the application.

   The name can contain up to eight characters. It must not be the same as an existing Oracle Essbase application.

5. Enter a description of the application.
6. For Application Type, select which type of application you are creating. For Planning applications, select General.
7. Select a Shared Services application group.
8. Click Next.
