Defining Integrations

You can integrate your application with Oracle Hyperion Financial Management and automate the setup by importing the information from an existing application; for example, frequency, periods, year, dimensions, and members.

A connection must be already defined. See Managing System Settings.

When you define the Period names in Tax Supplemental Schedules, they must match the Period names in Oracle Hyperion Tax Governance. For example: April for HFM April, not Apr for HFM April.

To define integrations:

  1. In your application, select Manage, and then Integrations.
  2. Click Actions, and then Add.
  3. On the Properties tab, enter a unique integration Name and a Description.

    Note:

Each integration can have only one connection.

  4. Select the Dimension Selection tab.
    • To use the default settings, which are the applicable Financial Management dimensions and corresponding application dimension names and attributes for the integration, click Save and Close. The system creates the dimension table definition and imports the frequency, periods, and currency information and stores the information.

    • In System Settings Options, select the options needed:

      • Frequency/Years/Periods

      • Currencies

    • To edit dimensions and dimension attributes, click a dimension row.

      • HFM Dimension: Select additional attributes or clear existing selections.

      • TSS Dimension: Change the default Dimension name.

        Note:

The system defaults the Tax Supplemental Schedulesdimension name to the same as the Financial Management dimension name. However, in the case when there are multiple integrations to different Financial Management applications within Tax Supplemental Schedules, if you need to store different attributes for the dimension, you can store the attributes as separate dimension tables. Specify a unique dimension name for each application.

        Examples:

-The entity dimension attributes from HFMAPP1 may be different from HFMAPP2; therefore, have different entity dimension names: App1_Entity and App2_Entity.

-Differences in dimension members in different Financial Management applications; therefore, have separate entity dimension tables and names.

      • Dimension Attributes – you can change the default name of the dimension attributes to any unique label.

        Note:

Duplicate attribute labels within the same dimension are not allowed.

  5. Click OK.
