Incorrect Parameter Error after Installing Smart View

After installing Oracle Smart View for Office, you may get the following error while launching Excel:

The parameter is incorrect.

This error occurs when the latest Microsoft Edge WebView2 version is not installed on your machine before installing or upgrading Smart View.

To resolve this error:

1. Check the Microsoft Edge WebView2 version currently installed on your machine. The WebView2 Runtime Version information is available in the Health Check dialog under Version Information. See Performing a Health Check On Your System.
2. If WebView2 version information is missing or it displays an older version, update WebView2 to the latest version.

   Oracle recommends installing the Evergreen version of WebView2 Runtime. Once installed, Microsoft distributes WebView2 updates on a regular cadence. You can also download the latest updates from: https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/webview2?form=MA13LH#download.

3. Uninstall Smart View, and then reinstall the latest version of Smart View. Oracle recommends using the Run as administrator command to ensure that all functionality is properly enabled and all required Windows Registry entries are set.
4. If the issue persists, try updating or repairing Microsoft Office.
