Set up Failure Analysis constants.

Enable the interface with other systems by selecting the S/WM Installed option.

Require users to select codes from the failure analysis tree by selecting the Use Failure Analysis Tree for Selecting Failure Analysis Codes option.

Provide a method of approving records for reuse by selecting the Use Workflow for Approving Failure Analysis for Re-Use option.

Select other options as appropriate.

Review failure types and failure analysis codes.

Failure Analysis Code Revisions

Click Add on the Work with Failure Analysis Codes form.

Set up Failure Analysis codes.

Enter failure analysis codes (which can consist of up to 15 alphanumeric characters) and descriptions. The other information that you can enter is optional.

Language Overrides

Select the appropriate code on the Failure Analysis Code Revisions form, and then select Language from the Row menu.

Attach descriptions in foreign languages.

Locate or add tree names.

Click Add on the Work with Failure Analysis Tree Names form.

Define Failure Analysis tree names.

Indicate whether the tree name is for a failure, an analysis, a resolution, or a combination of all three. Specify optional information, such as equipment number, inventory item number, product model, product family, product component, and environment.

Locate the tree name to which you are adding a hierarchical structure on the Work with Failure Analysis Tree Names form.

Select Tree from the Row menu.

Review the Failure Analysis tree structure (the hierarchical structure).

Define how the code descriptions appear on the Failure Analysis Tree form, and then click Add.

Set up the Failure Analysis tree structure.

Enter a parent code and all of its children for the tree structure.

You can also add children to an existing parent code.
