Understanding Item Transfers

If you have more than one branch/plant set up, you can use the rental item availability chart to initiate an item transfer from one branch to another if the branches are set up to allow transfers.

When you click the Transfer Item, the Rental Item Availability program opens the Transfer Item window. After you complete the fields on the window and click the Transfer button, the Rental Item Availability program uses the version of the Sales Order Entry program that you set up for item transfers to create the sales order and purchase order records for the transfer. The availability numbers for the transferring branch are updated when you click the Refresh button and the receiving branches are updated in the chart after the ST and OT orders are processed.
