Understanding Object Promotion

Starting with Tools Release 9.2.8, you can use the Promote feature in Web OMW to promote the following objects:

  • Applications
  • Reports
  • Versions
  • Business Views
  • Data Structures

  • Processing Options

  • Media Object.

The Promote feature enables you to promote objects from central objects to active package.You can select more than one object to promote, if any of the objects is a UDO, data dictionary, or UDC, the object will not be promoted, but if the object is either a business function or table the promote option will not be available.
