Creating an Ad Hoc Query for a UX One Chart

To create an ad hoc query:

  1. Open the menu in a chart.

  2. Select a personal or shared query from the Query drop-down list.

Note: You can also select All Records from the Query drop-down list. However, when you select All Records, you must create an ad hoc query; otherwise the chart will display a message: “Query Definition is Required".
  3. Click the Filter icon to display the query builder screen.

The EnterpriseOne form title is displayed at the top of the query builder screen. The left pane lists all the form level and grid level fields you can include in a query. For a query based on a business view, all of the columns available in that business view are listed. The right pane lists the condition of the application query and an additional filter section. You cannot modify the criteria of the Query in the Application Query section.

  4. On the left pane, click the plus sign of the form or grid fields that you want to use in your search criteria. The selected fields are added to the Additional Filters section.

Alternatively, you can search for the field that you want to add in the query by entering the field name in the Search field and clicking the Find button.

  5. In the Additional Filters section, select a condition parameter for each field. This enables you to customize the search criteria for the item. The comparison types displayed for each data item (such as equal, not equal, starts with, between, is blank, etc.) depend on the data type.

  6. Specify the comparison value for each field in the query. You can specify the value or range of values that you want displayed in the chart.

  7. Select Allow Override if you want to override the data that appears for the field. The selected form/grid field appears on the chart. You can enter a value in the field to dynamically filter and view the data in the chart.

  8. For the Match Type criteria, select one of the following:

    • Match All: Select this option if you want the chart data to include all of the criteria specified in the query.

    • Match Any: Select this option if you want the chart data to include any (not all) of the criteria specified in the query.

  9. Click the Apply button in the query builder panel to run the query.

The system uses the ad hoc query, and refreshes the chart with the new data.
