Understanding Content and Layouts

Your EnterpriseOne administrator grants permission for you to create, publish, and modify content and layouts for an enabled EnterpriseOne form. In addition to these permissions, your administrator must also enable content security to authorize you and other enabled users to work with and view content types.

See "Managing Content Security for Composite Application Framework" in the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools Security Administration Guide.

Assuming content security is enabled and the appropriate permissions have been granted, the system supports creating these types of content:

  • Web Page URLs

  • Embedded EnterpriseOne Forms

  • Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) Objects

  • Attachment (Tools Release 9.2.8.2)

Important: To create OBIEE content, the Oracle BI Enterprise Edition and the Oracle BI Applications adapter for EnterpriseOne must be installed and setup for your environment, and you must have permission to access this environment.See Configuring a Business Intelligence Connection

You use the Edit mode of the Composite Application Framework to create content and layouts. All content must be saved on a layout.

Your administrator grants permission to create these two types of layouts:

  • Personal layouts, which are available only to you.

  • Shared layouts, which can be published and shared with other users.

The content on shared layouts is available for other authorized users to use on their layouts for the same enabled form.

Note: The Composite Application Framework application is shipped with a limited number of content frames allowed for a layout. You can request your system administrator use Server Manager to change the CafeOne Maximum Contents per layout setting under the Web Objects Settings heading. Adding additional content frames might cause performance degradation.
