Understanding Encryption Updates for Selected EnterpriseOne Tables (Release 9.2.26.6)

Starting with Tools Release 9.2.26.6, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne uses the EnterpriseOne site key to encrypt sensitive values in selected database tables.

No action is required to convert existing values after you upgrade the Tools release. Tools Release 9.2.26.6 and later can continue to decrypt affected values that were encrypted using the previous encryption mechanism.

If multiple EnterpriseOne systems that use different Tools releases access the same affected tables, consider the Tools release used to update the records. When you open and save an affected record using Tools Release 9.2.26.6 or later, EnterpriseOne encrypts the sensitive value using the EnterpriseOne site key. An earlier Tools release cannot decrypt the updated value.

This behavior applies to records maintained using the following applications:

  • P0092 and P0092L
  • P953000
  • P954000
  • P98486W
Note: If a system using an earlier Tools release must continue to access the same affected records, do not update those records using Tools Release 9.2.26.6 or later until all systems that require access to the records can use the new encryption.

For information about the affected tables and encryption behavior, see Encryption of Sensitive Data in Soft Coding and Other Tables (Release 9.2.26.6) in the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools Security Administration Guide.
