Oracle by Example brandingDeploying Cumulative Software Updates Using the Web Client

section 0Before You Begin

This 20-minute OBE shows you how to deploy yearly cumulative Application Software Updates (ASUs) using the Work With Software Updates application on the web client.

In this OBE, you will:

  • Download a cumulative ASU from the Oracle JD Edwards Update Center.
  • Import the ASU using the web client into the database.
  • Deploy the cumulative software update on the web client.
  • Review the cumulative ASU deployment reports.

Background

Starting with Tools Release 9.2.8, you can use the JD Edwards Web Client to deploy yearly cumulative application software updates.

Applying updates using the web client enables remote software update management and automation.

Note: When using the Software Update Repository, the database should be validated for storing files and archives. The database administrator should address the space constraints of each database server. For example, an Oracle database administrator should account for the autoextend of tablespaces (for system and central objects).
