Understanding Reciprocal Assignment Creation

After you designate an assignment as a reciprocal assignment, you must specify whether you want the system to use a maximum number of iterations or a minimum residual balance when determining when to stop assigning costs.

If you choose a maximum number of iterations, the number that you enter must be less than or equal to the maximum iteration threshold specified in the Cost Management Constants program (P1609). If the number of iterations that you specify is greater than the number specified in the constants, it will be changed to the number of the maximum iteration threshold.

Also, if you specify a number of iterations, but the balance for the account from which you are assigning reaches zero prior to completing the number of iterations, the assignment will stop.

If you specify a residual cost balance amount and that threshold is not reached prior to completing the maximum number of iterations specified in the constants, the assignment will stop.
