Understanding the Changes to the Canadian Tax Info by EE Program
To distinguish contractors from other types of records, you must define the value of C for contractors in the Contract/Pensioner/Non-Resident Flag field on the Federal tab of the Canadian Tax Info by EE program (P771015). You use this program to set up the employee records for contractors with tax history type C. The system stores this value in the TaxCalcMethod (FICM) of the F060116 table. Then, when you run payroll, the system automatically updates this value of C as tax history type in the history tables F0713, F0716, F06146, and F06156.
To update the records that existed in the history tables before taking the Canada T5018 ESU with the tax history type field to C, you need to run the Convert Tax History in F0713/F0716/F06146/F06156 program (R77601). Running this program updates the history type field for Canadian Employees with C in the FICM field of the F060116 table. You must run this program before you run the next payroll after taking the T5018 ESU.
