Understanding Domestic Currency Receipts
A domestic currency receipt is a receipt that is in the same currency as the base currency of the invoice.
In this example, the company base currency is USD. You can:
Apply a USD receipt to the domestic amount of invoice 221 (USD).
Apply a USD receipt to the domestic amount (USD) of invoice 222 (EUR).
The currencies for the invoices are:
Invoice Number: 221
Domestic currency of invoice: USD
Foreign currency of invoice: None
Domestic currency of receipt: USD
Invoice Number: 222
Domestic currency of invoice: USD
Foreign currency of invoice: EUR
Domestic currency of receipt: USD
The receipts, which are in the base currency of the company (USD), pay the domestic amount of the invoices, even though one of the invoices has a foreign amount (EUR).
The system does not calculate a realized gain or loss on domestic currency receipts.
