Understanding the Organization Chart

Use the Organization Chart program (P05002X) to view information about an employee in an organization chart format. You can view information such as the name and title of the employee, the supervisor and subordinates of the employee, and the organization to which the employee is assigned.

(Release 9.2 Update) You can also use this chart to review the open requisitions linked to the employee for whom you are reviewing the details, and also the exact number of active candidates against the open requisitions at any given time. The system retrieves the requisitions linked to the employee from the Supplemental Data table (F00092) based on the value you specify in the Requested Supervisor field of the Requisition Master application (P08102). If you do not specify a supervisor in this field, the system checks the requisition to the employee in the Requested By field of P08102.

Some of the information that you can view or act upon, such as viewing your organization chart upon entry, viewing the employee profile, sending an email to the employee from the organization chart, viewing open requisitions is controlled by processing options. You set up processing options for the employee organization chart in two programs. You set up processing options in the Employee Information for Organization Chart program (P08714) to identify the source of the data to display in the organization chart. You set up processing options in the Organization Chart program (P05002X) to identify other factors about the organization chart.

Note: For this application to function efficiently, you must have Tools Release 9.2.5.4 or higher installed.
Note: Download the ESU and the dependent User Defined Objects (UDOs) to implement the Employee Organization Chart. See MOS Doc 2189817.1for more information on the implementation steps.
