Garnishment (Involuntary Wage Attachment)

A garnishment is a court-ordered payroll deduction imposed for nonpayment of a personal debt or child support. You are required to make a payroll deduction based on the court-ordered garnishment as well as to comply with state regulations regarding maximum amounts that can be withheld for each type of garnishment. In addition to back taxes and child support arrears, other examples of a garnishment include student loan collections, bankruptcy orders, and federal agency loan collections. The JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Payroll system can accommodate complex garnishment calculations, including multiple garnishments.
