Understanding Flat File Cross-References

The system needs to associate the flat file with the timecard information before it can upload data from a third-party source. When you upload timecard information, the system retrieves the data from the flat files and stores it in the F06116Z1 table. The system uses flat file cross-reference information for these conditions:

  • For inbound transactions, the system uses flat file cross-reference information if the third-party source cannot write data to the interface tables in the required format for JD Edwards EnterpriseOne software. The third-party source can write the data to a specific flat file for each transaction and record type.

  • For uploading information, the system uses flat file cross-reference information if the third-party source is a new or different source.
