Using the Most Appropriate Installation Media

When installing the latest Tools Release, carefully consider which installation media to use.

If you use the original 9.2.0 (2015) installation media, there are multiple steps that you must follow to get the installation current. See the Implementing 64-bit Processing with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Learning Path for details.

Note: The installation should first be done using the latest 32-bit Tools Release and after the installation is complete, you must migrate to 64-bit.
  1. Run the latest Planner Update 32-bit.
  2. Deploy UN26 or later to your path codes.
  3. Upgrade the Deployment Server from 32-bit to 64-bit.
  4. Deploy 64-bit Tools Release on Server Manager and Agents, Deployment Server, Enterprise Server, and HTML Server.
  5. Run the latest Planner Update 64-bit.
  6. Run TL927001 (must be run once on Deployment Server).
  7. Build a full package.
Important: If you are using the IBMi Code Current installation media, the only step required is the Full Package build. None of the above steps are necessary.
Note: The IBMi Code Current installation is not geared towards an Upgrade situation. However, if you only lay down the SHARED and PS920 artifacts, you can do a Simplified Upgrade with your Central Objects and Business Data and Control Tables.
