Updating the System Path

Before you build a server package on a Microsoft Windows machine, you must update the SYSTEM path with Microsoft Visual C++ on the Enterprise Server. This path is dependent on the compiler version that you are using. Supported compiler versions vary according to release of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne. Refer to Accessing Certifications.

To update the SYSTEM path:

  1. Access the Control Panel.

  2. Open System and click the Environment tab.

  3. Copy the path from your user settings into the path for your system settings.

Append the path from your user variables into the path for your system variables.

Do not replace the existing system path information. Instead, add a semi-colon to the end of the existing system path and then append the user path information.

  4. In your system settings, create the LIB and INCLUDE settings.

  5. Copy the LIB and INCLUDE settings from your user to your system.

  6. Change the drive letter to point to Visual C++ on your Enterprise Server.

  7. When the Visual Studio compilers were installed they automatically registered themselves in various environment variables. You should use Server Manager to verify the Compiler settings on your JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Enterprise Server match those of the desired compiler.

Note: Refer to Accessing Certifications in Understanding JD Edwards EnterpriseOne of this guide for details on which compiler version you should use with various applications and tools releases of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne.
  8. You must reboot the computer in order for path changes to take effect.
