Column Definition Usage in Financial Statements

You build financial statements by adding column definitions and row definitions to statement definitions. You then create versions and statement layouts for the statement definition. When you run the financial statement, the system combines the parameters from the column, row, and statement definitions, any data selection specified, and the version information to generate the financial statement.

You can use each column definition that you set up in multiple statement definitions. For example, if you set up a column definition to retrieve account balances for the current period, you could use that column definition in a financial statement that includes the current period revenues, and in a financial statement that includes the current period expenses.
