Creating a Layout Version

To create a layout version by accessing the Statement Versions program from a menu option, see Creating a Statement Version

To create a layout version from the Statement Definitions program:

  1. Access the Manage Layouts - Revise Layout Version form.

  2. Select Add Version from the Form menu.

  3. Complete the fields on the Revise Statement Versions form.

    See Creating a Statement Version

  4. (Optional) Add data selection to the version before you save the version.

Adding data selection is optional, but Oracle highly recommends that you associate with versions the data selection that applies to all rows and columns, such as business units and companies, instead of associating that data selection with row or column definitions. For layout versions, Oracle recommends that you set up the data selection to select only a limited set of data.

If you do not add data selection before you save the layout version, you can access the saved record from the Statement Versions program to modify the version.

  5. (Optional) Add category codes to the version.

  6. Click OK on the Revise Statement Versions form to return to the Manage Layouts - Revise Layout Version form.

  7. Perform one of these actions:

    • Click Continue to generate the data sample and review the data model on a tab on the Revise Statement Definitions form. You can then click the Layouts button to view the data sample in the Layout Editor and create the statement layout. See Creating Layouts in the BI Publisher Layout Editor.

    • Click Cancel on the Revise Layout Version form to exit the program without generating the data sample.
