Importing OVFS Component Files

To import OVFS component files:

1. Copy the export zip file to a location that you can access.

   If the export file is on a medium that enables you to import directly from that medium, you can skip this step.

2. Access the Import Option form for the file type that you need to import.

   For example, if you are importing files for row definitions, access the Row Definitions program and then the Import function in the Row Definitions program.

3. When prompted, select the file to import and then click the Load button.

   If all or some of the components that you are importing have corresponding records in the import environment, the system displays the Import Options form and lists the replacement components in the form.

   If all components are new, the system does not display the Import Options form and automatically imports all of the components.

4. If the system displays the Import Options form, review the list of records and then select one of these options:

   • Cancel

     Do not import records and exit the form.

   • Replace

     Import all records listed on the Import Options form.

     The system overwrites any existing records in the database that have the same values in the record key as the records being imported, and inserts records for all new components.

   • Prompt

     The system displays the Verify Update form so that you can accept or reject individual replacement files. When you select this option, the system automatically inserts all new components.

   • Skip

     Import new records and do not replace existing records.
