Before You Begin
This 15-minute tutorial shows you how to associate an orchestration with a Composed EnterpriseOne Page and then run the orchestration.
Background
Rosy is a business analyst and she needs to release backorders without navigating to multiple applications or taking multiple steps. She wants a simplified user experience to complete these activities so that she can focus on increasing customer satisfaction and sales.
What Do You Need?
To perform the tasks in this tutorial, you must have:
- Installed JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Applications Release 9.2 with Tools Release 9.2.6 or later.
- Enabled the Composite feature and set up UDO security in EnterpriseOne. For more information, see: "Managing UDO Feature Security" and "Managing UDO Action Security" in the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools Security Administration Guide.
- Created a Composed EnterpriseOne Page that contains a
designer pane.
This tutorial uses a Composed EnterpriseOne Page titled TeamCustomers. You can use any Composed EnterpriseOne Page with a designer pane that is available in your system.
- Created an orchestration that is designed to release
backorders.
This tutorial uses the ReleaseBackOrder orchestration. You can use any orchestration that is available in your system.
Note: This tutorial uses the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne demo data for the tasks. You can use other data available in your system to complete the tasks.
Associate
an Orchestration with a Designer Pane Tile
- From the login user name drop-down menu in the upper-right corner of the EnterpriseOne Home page, click Manage Content under the Personalization category, and then click Composed Pages.
- From the Name drop-down list, select
TeamCustomers.
The TeamCustomers Composed EnterpriseOne Page looks like this:

tile:
Add a Tile icon in Designer Pane - In the Configure Tile dialog box, complete the following
setup:
- Type = Orchestration
- Style = Light Box
- Color = blue
- Title = Release Backorders
- Description = Release backorders for top customers
- Auto Image = Deselect this check box
- Custom Image = Use the Visual Assist to search for and select an image
- Hover Link URL = Leave this field blank
The Configure Tile dialog box should look like this:

Configure
the Orchestration
- In the Composed EnterpriseOne Page, select the orchestration tile that you added in the previous task and click the Configure Tile icon.
- In the Configure Tile dialog box, click the Select Orchestration or Notification icon displayed beside the Orchestration Name field. The Associate Orchestration wizard is displayed.
- From the Select Orchestration drop-down list, select the orchestration that you want to associate with the tile.
- In the Map Input section:
- In the Default Value fields, enter the respective default values for the mapping inputs. The default values defined in the Orchestrator Studio are displayed in italic font.
- Use the Allow Input toggle button to specify whether the field should be displayed at runtime or not.
- In the Configuration section:
- Enable the Run Synchronously toggle button to run the orchestration in the synchronous mode.
- Enable the Show Message toggle button to display the success message defined for the orchestration in the Orchestrator Studio (Define Messages tab in in the Outputs and Assertions window).
The Associate Orchestration wizard should look like this:

- Click OK in the Configure Tile dialog box.
- Click Save to save the Composed
EnterpriseOne Page.
The Composed EnterpriseOne Page should look like this:

Run
the Orchestration from the Composed EnterpriseOne Page
- Open the Composed EnterpriseOne Page.
- Click the Release Backorders tile that you configured in the previous task.
- In the Enter Input dialog box, enter or change the field
values in the Enter Input dialog box.
The Enter Input dialog box should look like this:
Orchestration mapping inputs - Click Run.
A dialog box is displayed to indicate that the orchestration ran successfully.
Orchestration status and success message - Click OK.
