Methods

These processing options define default values.

1. Safety Stock Calculation Method

Use this processing option to specify which formula to use to calculate the safety stock. Valid values are:

Blank: The system uses the Buyer's Guide formula to calculate the safety stock.

1: The system uses the Specified Days of Demand formula to calculate the safety stock.

2: The system uses the Specified Percentage of Leadtime Demand formula to calculate the safety stock.

2. Safety Stock Days of Demand

Use this processing option to specify the number of days of demand to be used by the Specified Days of Demand formula.

You must enter a value in this if you select 1 in the Safety Stock Calculation Method processing option.

3. Safety Stock Percentage of Leadtime Demand

Use this processing option to specify the percentage of leadtime demand to be used by the Specified Percentage of Leadtime Demand formula.

You must enter a value in this if you select 2 in the Safety Stock Calculation Method processing option.

4. Demand Per Day Calculation

Use this processing option to specify how the system calculates the demand per day for the Specified Days of Demand and Specified Percentage of Leadtime Demand formulas. Valid values are:

Blank: Use the historical demand data from Item Ledger (F4111).

1: Use future demand data from the MPS/MRP/DRP Summary File (F3413).

You must enter a value in this if you select 1 or 2 in the Safety Stock Calculation Method processing option.

Note: If you select 1 in this processing option, you should have run either the MRP/MPS Requirements Planning (R3482) or the Master Planning Schedule - Multiple Plant (R3483) UBE before you run R3425.
5. Number of days for Demand Per Day

Use this processing option to specify the number of days to be used in calculating the demand per day. If the system is using the historical data, the data will be taken for the specified number of days counting backward from the system date. In case of MRP data, the data will be taken for the specified number of days counting forward from the system date.

You must enter a value in this if you select 1 or 2 in the Safety Stock Calculation Method processing option.

6. Doc Types for Item Ledger data (up to 12)

Use this processing option to specify which Document Types (00/DT) to be included from the item ledger.

Note: Do not leave an empty space while entering multiple values. For example, to enter the document types SO, ST, SD, IM, IO, and IS, enter SOSTSDIMIOIS.

If you have chosen a calculation method using historical demand data from the Item Ledger for the demand per day calculation and do not specify any document types in this processing option, calculated safety stock quantities will be zero.
