EnterpriseOne Pages for the Logistics

A typical Shipment Process Flow page has the following steps:

  1. Shipment Pending

  2. Shipment Approved

  3. Shipment Confirmed

  4. Final Freight Update

  5. Load Building Process

1.Shipment Pending:

To keep track of shipments, you must perform certain operations. These operations enable you to record the status of the shipment. The shipment process flow begins when you want to work with shipments that are in pending status.

In the sample Shipment Process Flow page, the following Watchlists are associated with the “Shipment Pending” tile.

  • Pending Shipments on the Shipment Pending tile displays the number of pending shipments.

  • Potential Contract Shipments on the Shipment Pending tile displays the number of shipments that are on potential contract.

  • Pending Overdue Shipments on the Shipment Pending tile displays the number of pending overdue shipments.

  • TL WGT GRT Than 10000 LB on the Shipment Pending tile displays the number of shipments that are greater than 10000 lb.

2. Shipment Approved

The JD Edwards EnterpriseOne system enables you to approve a shipment. After a shipment is approved, it has a protected status, the system does not allow any changes to be made to an approved shipment.

In the sample Shipment Process Flow page, the following Watchlists are associated with the “Shipment Approved” tile.

  • Approved Shipments on the Shipment Approved tile displays the number of shipments that are approved.

  • Promised Ship Date of Tomorrow on the Shipment Approved tile displays the number of shipments that have the promised ship date of tomorrow.

  • Overdue Shipments on the Shipment Approved tile displays the number of shipments that are overdue.

3. Shipment Confirmed

To record the actual quantities of the products being shipped, you must confirm the shipment. The system then updates the status of the shipment to the next status and confirms that you are shipping individual sales orders that are assigned to that shipment.

In the sample Shipment Process Flow page, the following Watchlists are associated with the “Shipment Confirmed” tile.

  • Confirmed Shipments on the Shipment Confirmed tile displays the number of shipments that are confirmed.

  • Confirmed Overdue Shipments on the Shipment Confirmed tile displays the number of confirmed shipments that are overdue.

4. Final Freight Update

When shipments are confirmed, you can update the freight charges. When you run freight update, the system creates vouchers and writes records to both the general ledger and the accounts payable system for auto-pay carriers. For non-auto-pay carriers, the system writes records only to the general ledger system.

5. Load Building Process

After a shipment is created, you can include the shipment in a load. You can build a load using a common carrier or a private fleet. This tile will give you access to the Load Building Process EnterpriseOne page.

Note: You can also see the Volume by Mode of Transport (MOT) chart displayed in the Shipment Process Flow page.

The following table describes the elements of the Shipment Process Flow and the Load Building Process Flow:
