Before You Begin
This 15-minute OBE (Oracle by Example) shows you how to set up
the Order Preparation Days and Delivery Date preferences so that
these options work in conjunction with the Workday Calendar.
In this OBE, you will:
- Set up the Workday Calendar.
- Set up processing options for preferences in Sales Order Entry (P4210).
- Enter Sales Order.
Background
JD Edwards EnterpriseOne enables you to configure Order Preparation Days and Delivery Date preferences based on the Workday Calendar at the time of Sales Order Entry. With this enhancement, the system considers excluded days from the Workday Calendar to determine the Scheduled Pick Date, Scheduled Ship Date and Promised Delivery Date.
Scenario
In this OBE, consider a scenario in which you must calculate the Scheduled Pick Date, Scheduled Ship Date, and Promised Delivery Date when Order Preparation Days and Delivery Date preferences are set to comply with the Workday Calendar at the time of sales order entry.
Prerequisites
To perform the steps in this OBE, you must:
- Add the Work With Workday Calendar program (P00071) and Sales Order Detail program in Favorites menu.
- Set up the Order Preparation Days and Delivery
Date preferences for the required Customer Number and
Item Number combination in the Preference Master Program
(P40070).

In this case, the system calculates the Promised Ship Date as Tuesday, 01/09/2024 and the Promised Delivery Date as Monday, 01/15/2024.
