Introduction

This Oracle by Example (OBE) describes how to set up the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Sustainability Framework system to record and report for Water Withdrawal. In this OBE, you will configure determinants, define an activity type and an activity source, and create a ledger entry to track sustainability related to water withdrawal.

Background

Organizations are increasingly required to track and report water withdrawal volumes by source to meet sustainability reporting requirements, for example GRI 303 and CDP Water. The JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Sustainability Framework provides foundational components and activity ledgers to record these details.

Scenario

A food and beverage manufacturing company operates two production lines that rely on purified groundwater for washing, steaming, and beverage formulation. The company wants to track the volumes of water withdrawn for reporting Water Withdrawal.

Prerequisites

  • Access to Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne with Sustainability Framework enabled (system code 20S active).
  • Appropriate roles and permissions to update Sustainability Foundation configurations.
  • Next Numbers configured for activity documents and batches.
  • Availability of supplier and Business Unit master data.

1: Setting Up Sustainability Foundation Determinants

  1. Sign in to the EnterpriseOne web client.
  2. From the EnterpriseOne Menus, select Sustainability Framework Setup (G20S41), and then select Determinants (P20S05).
  3. On the Work with Determinants form, click Add to open the Determinants Revision form (W20S05C).
  4. Enter values in the following fields for the respective column:
    • Determinant: GROUND_WATER
    • Description: Ground Water
    • Determinant Type: WATER_SRC
  5. Click OK to save the determinant.

2: Mapping Determinant Type

To store determinants in the Activity Ledger table, map the determinant types to their corresponding columns.

  1. From the EnterpriseOne Menus, select Sustainability Framework Setup (G20S41), and then select Determinant Types Mapping (P20S09).
  2. On the Work with Determinant Types Mapping form, click Add to open the Determinant Types Mapping Revision form (W20S09B).
  3. Enter the following mappings for the determinant type:
    • Determinant Type: WATER_SRC
    • Associated Data Item: ALWSRCTYP
  4. Click OK to save the record.
  5. Description of sample-image-1.png follows
    Determinant Types Mapping Revision form

3: Defining Activity Type for Water Withdrawal

  1. From the EnterpriseOne Menus, select Sustainability Framework Setup (G20S41), and then select Activity Types (P20S01).
  2. On the Work with Activity Types form, click Add to open the Activity Type Revision form (W20S01D).
  3. Enter the following values:
    • Activity Type: WATER
    • Activity Type Long Description: Water Withdrawal
    • Scope: 3
    • On the Determinant Types tab, enter WATER_SRC in the Determinant Type column.
    Description of sample-image-1.png follows
Determinant Type tab of the Activity Type Revision form
  4. Enter measure type QUANTITY in the Measure Type field on the Measure Type tab.
  5. Description of sample-image-1.png follows
Measure Type tab of the Activity Type Revision form
  6. Click OK to save the record.

4: Defining Activity Source

To uniquely represent the source of the withdrawn water as groundwater, set up GROUND_WATER_SRC as the activity source in the system.

  1. From the EnterpriseOne Menus, select Sustainability Framework Setup (G20S41), and then select Activity Source (P20S07).
  2. On the Work with Activity Source form, click Add to open the Activity Source Revision form (W20S07C).
  3. Enter the following values:
    • Activity Source: GROUND_WATER_SRC
    • Activity Source Description: Ground Water
    • Activity Type: WATER
    • Determinant: GROUND_WATER
  4. Click OK to save the changes.
  5. Description of sample-image-1.png follows
    Activity Source Revision form

5: Entering the Sustainability Activity Record in Activity Ledger (P20S11)

Set up the processing options for Sustainability Framework MBF (P20S12):

  1. From the EnterpriseOne Menus, enter IV in the Fast Path, and then enter P20S12 in the Interactive Application field. Open Sustainability Framework MBF and select Processing Options from the Row menu.
  2. Enter processing options on each tab as required:
    • Default tab: Set relevant defaults for sustainability processing.

    Default tab
    • Workflow tab: Configure workflow options (if applicable).
    Description of sample-image-1.png follows
    Workflow tab
    • Audit tab: Enter 1 to enable auditing if required by compliance or reporting, else leave it blank.
    Description of sample-image-1.png follows
    Audit tab

Set up the processing options for Activity Ledger (P20S11):

  1. From the EnterpriseOne Menus, select Sustainability Framework Processing (G20S10), and then right-click Standard Voucher Entry (P20S11IZJDE0001) and select Processing Options.
  2. Select the Default tab, and then enter value for Version processing option. You can leave it blank for the system to use ZJDE0001.
  3. Description of sample-image-1.png follows
    Default tab

Enter sustainability activity record in Sustainability Activity Ledger (P20S11)

  1. From the EnterpriseOne Menus, select Sustainability Framework Processing (G20S10), and then select Sustainability Activity Ledger (P20S11).
  2. On the Sustainability Activity Ledger form, click Add to open the Sustainability Activity Ledger Revision form.
  3. Enter the following values in the header and detail sections:
