1.18.5 Deploying and Indexing the Searches that Oracle Delivers
Verifying the Roles for Search Users
Oracle delivers PeopleSoft HCM search modules for which predefined Custom, Global, and Keyword searches are provided.
Before you can deploy the search definitions, you must verify that the roles are assigned to the call back user (PSAPPS), as follows:

Select PeopleTools, Security, User Profiles, User Profiles, and select the appropriate user.

On the User Profiles page, select the Roles tab.

Verify that the following roles are assigned to the user:

Search Query Administrator

Search Administrator

1 The Homepage Notifications search definition is used as the data source in the PeopleSoft HCM landing page in the Suggestions, Continue With, and Announcements sections. Oracle PeopleSoft recommends that you enable real-time indexing for this search definition. For details on Real-Time Indexing, see PeopleTools: Search Technology, “Administering Real-Time Indexing.”
2 National ID is available as an advanced search field for Job Data search.
For each of the Search definitions that Oracle delivers, you need to complete the following tasks:

Deploy: Select PeopleTools, Search Framework, Search Admin Activity Guide.
In the Search Administration activity guide, expand the Administration section, and select Deploy/Delete Object.

Index the Search Definitions: Run the process by selecting Select PeopleTools, Search Framework, Search Admin Activity Guide.
In the Search Administration activity guide, expand the Administration section, and select Schedule Search Index.
Note:
From PeopleTools 8.62, you can setup a recurrence in Process Scheduler for Automatic Incremental Indexing.
