1.1.4 Reviewing Software Package Requirements for PeopleSoft HCM

Directory Interface enables PeopleSoft applications to authenticate users and synchronize data with LDAP directory services, such as Microsoft Active Directory. While user authentication can occur directly through the directory server, Directory Interface offers enhanced features for maintaining data consistency between PeopleSoft HCM and the directory. Installing Directory Interface with PeopleSoft HCM is optional but recommended to centralize identity management and ensure accurate, real-time employee information.
