Working with Page Controls In Interactive Mode

Creating a page with numerous fields in interactive mode (Allow Deferred Processing is not selected) can affect page performance and functionality, depending on:

  • The position of the interactive fields.

  • How the end users will use the application.

If the interactive fields are in close proximity, end users may attempt to enter information into an interactive field, while another interactive field is processing information entered previously. This can cause page failure and information loss. This tends to occur more often when users tab quickly through page fields while entering information.

To avoid potential processing overlaps, Oracle PeopleTools recommends that you avoid placing interactive fields close to each other on the page, in terms of location and tab order.
