Reviewing the PT-MW-DPK Manifest

The ptmw-manifest file includes the following items:

type=mw
platform=<OS>
tools_version=8.63
min_tools_version=<version>
jdk_version=<version>
weblogic_version=<version>
tuxedo_version=<version>
oracleclient_version=<version>

The manifest entries are:

  • type — DPK type

  • platform — operating system platform

  • tools_version — PeopleSoft PeopleTools release, such as 8.63

  • min_tools_version — Minimum PeopleSoft PeopleTools patch release required to use this PT-MW-DPK

    If a min_tools_version is specified, such as 8.63.03, you must use this PT-MW-DPK only for installations with PeopleSoft PeopleTools versions 8.63.03 or later.

  • jdk_version — Java JDK patch version and CPU version, if any

  • weblogic_version — Oracle WebLogic patch version and CPU version, if any

  • tuxedo_version — Oracle Tuxedo patch version and CPU version, if any

  • oracleclient_version — Oracle Database Client version, if any.

Compare the software versions, patch numbers, and CPUs in the PT-MW-DPK (ptmw-manifest) with those in the PeopleSoft Update Image DPKs (pt-manifest) to decide whether to use the PT-MW-DPK. If there are CPUs that are later than those on your existing environment, you can use it.

For example, if the PT-MW-DPK includes jdk_version=21.0.12, and the PeopleSoft Update Image DPKs include jdk_version=21.0.09, you can use the PT-MW-DPK to get the later JDK CPU.

Note:

When you use the --apply_mw_cpu option, only the CPUs listed in the ptmw-manifest are applied to existing environments.
