Understanding NL Search Service
The Natural Language (NL) Search Service enables users to retrieve business data using natural language requests. It acts as a bridge between a natural language request, a customer’s chosen Large Language Model (LLM), and the search instance.
PeopleSoft delivers the NL Search Service as an OpenAPI-based REST service through the Application Services Framework. The NL Search Service converts natural language questions into PeopleSoft Search queries, runs those queries, and returns secured output that can be used by chat experiences, AI agents, or other integration scenarios. Organizations can use this service as a building block for AI-powered integrations that require fast, secure data retrieval from PeopleSoft Search while using a large language model, or LLM, that supports their implementation.
For more information on the NL Search Service architecture, see Guidelines for Implementing a Natural Language Assistant in PeopleSoft on My Oracle Support (Article ID KB244264).
