Setting Configuration Managers for Multiple PeopleTools Clients

If you want to access multiple PeopleTools releases from a single client workstation, then you may need to run Configuration Manager and re-enter the Connect ID and Connect Password. Doing this creates a Windows registry key in the format required by the specified range of releases.

In addition, if you use a different Connect ID and Connect Password for the different releases, you must run Configuration Manager for each release and re-enter the credentials.

Whether or not this is required depends on the releases that you want to access with PeopleTools client software (Application Designer, Data Mover, and so on) running from the same client workstation. If you need to run PeopleTools clients from more than one of the releases or range of releases in the following list, launch Configuration Manager, then enter (or re-enter if necessary) and save the Connect ID and Connect Password.

  • 8.54

  • 8.55 — 8.56

  • 8.57

For example, if you want to run clients from PeopleTools 8.55.14 and 8.57.04:

  1. Run PeopleTools 8.55.14 Configuration Manager.

    For example, pshome_8.55.14/bin/client/winx86/pscfg.exe.

  2. On the Startup page, enter values for Connect ID and Connect Password.

  3. Click OK to save.

  4. If the Connect ID and Connect Password for PeopleTools 8.57.04 are different from the values for PeopleTools 8.55.14, run PeopleTools 8.57.04 Configuration Manager.

    For example, pshome_8.57.04/bin/client/winx86/pscfg.exe.

  5. On the Startup page, enter values for Connect ID and Connect Password.

  6. Click OK to save.
