Preparing Tasks (TBUI) for Upgrades

This topic explains that before upgrading to Siebel 22.7 and later, administrators should review and delete unnecessary paused Task instances in the Universal Inbox to avoid migrating them to RR and to reduce PostInstallDBSetup processing time.

Before performing an upgrade or update to Siebel 22.7 and above, Siebel Administrators should review any paused Task instances in the Universal Inbox.

Any Task instances that are no longer required or that will not be resumed should be deleted so that they will not be moved to the RR environment during the process. Deleting Universal Inbox records can only be accomplished by deleting a single record at a time, but this gives ample opportunity to examine the records and not delete them mistakenly. Records in the Universal Inbox (including paused Task records) can have expiration dates applied to them to make it easier to determine if a paused Task record is no longer needed.

Note: The more paused Task records in the Universal Inbox the longer the Task Upgrade utility will take to process the records during PostInstallDBSetup so it is a good idea to remove any unnecessary Task records.
