Previewing and Downloading Attachments

You can quickly open and preview file attachments. Previews are read-only, making it easy to view content without saving files to your desktop. You can also download multiple attachments from emails or related records (such as Contacts, Accounts, or Service Requests) with fewer clicks.

Preview an Attachment

To preview an attachment, click the Preview button next to the file name. When you select Preview, the application shows the content in a drawer panel in the Redwood theme. In the Aurora theme, the content appears in a popup window.

Note: The Preview button is enabled only when a single, nonURL attachment is selected.

Download an Attachment

To download an attachment, select its name and then select Download. The application downloads one or more selected files in a single operation, into a .zip file. The downloaded file is named <parent object name>_<object name>.zip.

Note: When you select multiple files, the Download button is enabled. It's disabled if you select a URL-type attachment.

By default, Preview and Download capabilities are enabled for these Attachment applets:
